Roy
Shipping an engaging MVP mobile app for Roy's NIL platform allowing student-athletes to reach fans and monetize their profile.
About
In the wake of the NCAA's landmark name, image, and likeness (NIL) decision, the Minneapolis-based startup Roy is building a video sharing platform allowing student-athletes to earn in exchange for exclusive digital content made for their fans, similar to Cameo.
Roy needed help prioritizing several major decisions, so my team worked with the founders to scope MVP requirements and design key user flows with engineering to bring the product to market.
Role
Over six months, I played a significant role in contributing to Roy's holistic strategy, developing a sophisticated brand identity and high-fidelity prototypes to support business objectives and guide MVP launch. While collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders, I guided a team of two designers to iterate on core features aligned with evolving business needs.
Outcomes
I created MVP designs to support the Roy's team in building the first version of the product with clarity and vision, guiding the user experience and showcasing the product offering to investors. Roy launched and successfully closed $2M in October 2024.
